What's So Hard About Relaxing?

I've been having some back issues lately - hit a critical point last weekend when I had trouble lifting my head off the pillow. I see a chiropractor but there really hasn't been anything he can do to relieve it. So a good friend of mine recommended Greenwich Muscular Therapy Center - which is where I spent an hour yesterday. I am basically one muscle knot from the base of my skull to my ankles - so I'm looking forward to as much muscular therapy as I can get.

Later in the day, over a beer at the local watering hole, another friend asked me why I have to work so hard at relaxing - I had no answer - but it makes me wonder: is it possible to relax if you have to spend so much energy getting there? One to ponder...
